Tally Ho! Yankee in a Spitfire - 1st Edition
A true first edition, not later impressions or reprints, of Arthur "Art" Donahue first literary masterpiece. Published by MacMillan in 1951, this hardcover and dust jacket are extremely good condition for an 84 year old publication. Arthur Donahue was one of the first six American airmen who volunteered for service with the RAF, and became a recipient of the Battle of Britain clasp to his war medal despite not surviving to the end of the war. His legacy told in two separate books, the other being Singapore: Last Flight from, exposes a man deeply committed to the overthrow of fascism and who risked everything before his own country even joined the war. This tome, in this condition, and this early in print run is extremely rare and would make a fabulous addition to any collector's reference library.
