Westway Model - XD212

Westway Model - XD212

£45.00Price

The Westway Models company is known for creating professional fiberglass display models of aircraft. Westway Models was based near London, England until its closure in 1998, and it was, at that time, the oldest aviation model maker in Europe. Their products were highly regarded for their technical authenticity. This aircraft, XD212 was a Supermarine Scimitar F1 the forerunner to the iconic Bucaneer.

On 20/09/1961, XD212 ("614-LM") a Supermarine Scimitar F.1 of 736 NAS FAA RN was written off when it failed to recover from a spin, and dived into the ground at Raich Hill, Forgie, eight miles North West of Huntley, Banffshire while orbiting a contact point. The pilot was unable to eject and died in the crash.
